Products for Culturing Anaerobes

Oxyrase® provides a bio-tech approach to making media for isolating and growing anaerobes. For an explanation of how Oxyrase works, see AntiOxidant Products and for details see EC-Oxyrase® .

Oxyrase® is formulated to be used in broth (Oxyrase® for Broth) and agar media (Oxyrase® for Agar).

We make pre-poured plates primarily for use in Clinical Microbiology. All of our plates are made PRAS (Pre-Reduced Anaerobically Sterilized).  See Media Made for Anaerobes.

We make plates in two formats. The OxyPlate™ is a self-generating anaerobic plate, made in the special OxyDish™, that eliminates the need for bags, jars, and chambers. The OxyPRAS™ Plate is made in a standard petri dish and requires incubation in an anaerobic environment as provided by bags, jars, chambers, and Anoximat™.

The inclusion of Oxyrase® in the final plate product confers added benefits to plated media such as long shelf-life.
