Our products are used in Anaerobe Microbiology. The Oxyrase Enzyme System® provides a novel approach to making media for isolating and growing anaerobes.

Oxyrase® is formulated to be used in broth (Oxyrase for Broth™) and agar media (Oxyrase for Agar™).

We make pre poured plates for use in Clinical Microbiology. The literature shows that PRAS (Pre-Reduced Anaerobically Sterilized) media are important for isolating all clinical anaerobes (click here for an explanation of PRAS and references that document the importance of PRAS for isolating anaerobes). Most  pre poured plates provided by media manufacturers are not made PRAS because of the difficulty and expense in making them. Oxyrase® is used in the manufacturing process to make PRAS plates affordable.

We make plates for Clinical Microbiology in two formats. The OxyPlate™ is a self-generating anaerobic plate, made in the special OxyDish™, that eliminates the need for bags, jars, and chambers. The OxyPRAS™ plate is made in a standard petri dish and requires incubation in an anaerobic environment as provided by bags, jars, and chambers. The inclusion of Oxyrase® in the final plate product confers additional benefits to plated media.

Oxyrase® plated media products are sealed in special pouches that are impervious to oxygen to keep them reduced and ready to use.

AnaSelect™ is a formulation combined with Oxyrase® to control the growth of facultative microbes found in virtually all clinical specimens. The result is that more anaerobes are isolated readily from clinical specimens using AnaSelect™.
