A multi-center,clinical study was done with AnaSelect™. The participating laboratories ran parrallel samples from specimens identified for anaerobe recovery. The specimen was directly plated onto a non-selective, PRAS blood agar plate. Different means of anaerobic incubation were included in the study. The specimen was also inoculated into broth media commonly used in clinical laboratories. In addition, the specimen was inoculated into an AnaSelect™ Oxyrase for Broth - BHI tube. The broth tubes were incubated aerobically for 48 hours, and then directly plated onto a non-selective, PRAS blood agar plate. The plates were scored for no growth, facultative growth - no anaerobes, facultative growth - anaerobes. Results of the study are presented in the links provided below.
