Nearly all clinical specimens for anaerobes contain facultative microbes. This complicates recovery and isolation of the anaerobe because facultative microbes can outgrow anaerobes under anoxic conditions.

AnaSelect™ is a formulation that, when added to Oxyrase, creates a selective environment that limits the growth of facultatives and allows anaerobes to grow.

AnaSelect™ Oxyrase for Broth is used as a back up culture for anaerobes, replacing Thio cultures, but with improved results.
